A few days ago, i received a mailer of a trial Jamu Tummy Massage at Marie Chia. The price was pretty attractive and the location was quite convenient. Out of beauty, i decided to call in and make a booking. I called causeway point outlet for 2 days consectutively but the line just keep ringing without answering. On the 3rd day, i finally managed to get through and booked a session.
When i went to the session today, i was asked to fill in a consultation form which is a norm when you visit a spa or health centre. After filing up the form , i was made to sit there and waited for 15 min without anyone attending to me. My appointment is already past the scheduled time and no one seems to bother. Getting quite impatient, i turn and search around for someone. Just at the reception, a consultant was attending and trying to promote more products to her customer who just finished her session. After her long casual talk with her customer, she finally walked into the waiting room where i was in and began to browse through the form. She probably tried to ignored me because when i arrived, she is not serving any customers. Perhaps dressing so ordinary and without any branded bag, i am not a potential customer to her. She explained to me the procedure and asked whether i wanted a top up to a Jamu Mask. i told her i only wanted what is in the promotion mailer. Getting rather irritated, i asked when can i start the treatment and how long is the session. She informed that the session will take 45 mins and showed me to the locker room.
Inside the locker, there was a changing robe and the disposable panty. she took away the panty and told me to change into the robe. Feeling puzzled, i wonder if she took away the disposable pantie wont it dirty my own undergarment when doing the treatment? Or perhaps i am just having a trial and not full session that i am not entitled to the amenities provided. Nevertheless, i followed her instruction and came out to the main area again. Again there was no one in sight and the tea lady was so kind to ask me who am i waiting for. Lounging around for about 5 min, one therapist came along and showed me to the room.
My treatment started with cleansing and a scrub which only last less than 5 mins. The therapist started to massage the tummy. Her hands were icy cold and she was so gentle and slow that i cannot even feel any pressure when she does the massage. I asked what is she applying and what is the Jamu for. She explained that it to reduce wind only. On the mailer, i remember that it was mainly to firm and slim the tummy. Anyway after her soft and slow massage, my tummy just get a little redder , no signs of firming and no even any smell of Jamu ( which usually is quite strong smell). She uses a cream to massage and not even an ampoule . ( when i called up and asked other branches, i was told it was an ampoule). Done. My session is over and i am thinking i can do a much better massage myself at home. I walked out of the salon with 20 min of waiting time and only 20 minutes of treatment. I wonder to myself if i made to the right choice to try a promised 45 min session.
A really disappointed experience from a Brand so well established and renowed in Singapore and a SUPER BRAND award establishblishment once.

Comments on My Experience of a Jamu Tummy Massage
It is not the 1st time I heard about their bad service. They will always pester you to buy their products n if u gave them a firm no, the service quality will be damn bad. if you agree to buy product A, they will say Product A should go with B then it works, in the end u have alot of things to buy…
Oh really… Hmmm i think they really need to build up their customer service.
