Hair Loss after pregnancy is pretty common. To some mothers, it can be a short term period where as for some it may be longer than just a few months.

The usual reason for postnatal hair loss is 'hormonal change'. Hormonal changes in general are a very common cause of female hair loss. Almost 98% of woman who given birth experience extra hair loss. During the pregnancy however, hair is often at it's best because of the high levels of female hormones oestrogen (good for hair growth) and progesterone (bad for hair growth), more hair follicles enter the growth phase than normal. After childbirth hormone levels change dramatically, often causing the hair growth cycle to become 'disturbed'. The normal hair growth cycle soon returns hair re-enter into the resting phase.  It's at this point that most women notice the hair loss, especially for someone who has long hair. Hair loss normally occurs from the 6th week to the13th week after childbirth. This type of hair loss is usually temporary, once the body has settled down and returned to the pre-pregnancy state, normally at around the 7th month after childbirth. If hair loss continue for more than 3 years, it is recommend to seek a doc advice.

I am going to share with you my story about the complication, my 19 days post-delivery.

Like any mummies, being first time parents, both husband and I were looking forward to our due date, to meet our little darling. I delivered 4 days before my due date naturally and happily, was too excited to even close my eyes. After 6 hours later, nurse approached me at my bed and urges me to try to pass out urine. She followed me and we waited in the toilet for few minutes, I told her I do not have any urge at all, she tried to help me by turning on the tap, but I just do not have any feeling, so she told me that after another 1 hour, should I still could not urine, I will have to put on the catheter. At the point of time, I was thinking, as you wish, not knowing that this is so important, still chatting happily with visitors and looking at my baby. Finally, all of them left, 1 hour was up, the nurse came to me and accompanied me to the toilet, again, no output at all. This time, she put on the catheter throughout the night, I thought only 1 night and I will be leaving home, so I did not really put it on heart.

Before i enter into motherhood, i had time for facials , spa, manicure , pedicure. I am able to spend hours at hair salons just for colouring or a perm. Even when i was home, doing masks or hair treatment is a weekly treat. Ever since i enter into motherhood, the pampering disappear.Trips to hair salon was probably once in few months when i just cannot stand my hair going into bad shape. Manicure and Pedicure were mainly Express or when there is" an occasion". Spa is definately probably once a year now. I am definately missing those days where you get pampered by someone. All you have to do is to relax and enjoy.

How do i get back my flat , toned tummy ? This question is one of the 1st that every mum ask and desperately wants to know the answer. Unfortunately if you think that there is a fast and easy way, you could upset. From my personal experiences, my tummy went down after 1 week. I did a postnatal massage with binding. I realise that binding helps in certain way because after 9 months walking around with a big belly, suddenly you cannot feel where is your stomach muscles after giving birth. Although the tummy shrink but it still look flabby and looks like something that is hanging over your pants. You have to understand that there is no miracle that your tummy can be toned and firm when the muscles are stretched for months. It take time so patience is the key.  I did binding myself for around 6 hours everyday for about 2 months ( i do not wear when i go out). It strengthen my stomach muscles and keep it tight. This was the only thing i can do since exercise is forbidded at least 6 weeks after natural delivery. For caesarean delivery, it could take up to 3 months.
